Default Do you cut your own hair?

I've been cutting my own hair for a few months now. It looks OK as of now. Does anybody have tips on how to cut hair and what to use?

Yes, I have in the past cut my own hair. Nowadays, I cut my mom's hair, my mom cut's my sister's hair, and my sister cut's mine.

We usually check out books at our local library on hair cutting, and use those as guidelines

A rude....meanie....?

....

aaaanyway, I do cut my own hair but only because it's so long and "cutting " it only consists of trimming off the split ends.

As a matter of fact, I cut my own hair last night. It was getting too heavy and clinging to my head. I cut my own because I can't afford even a dime to have someone else do it.

It's not perfect....but I got my cute back, lol!

Is nobody nice to you in real life? Or maybe you didn't tip them afterwards?

Well depending on what style cut you want, at least make it even on both sides of your head. I think what hair stylists do is pull the locks away from the head and use their fingers to judge if they are maintaining a cut of equal length (by seeing how many finger widths the length of hair is). Do you have a hand mirror handy along with another mirror so you can see the back of your head? And wet your hair often.

My hair is too long to cut myself so I go in every three months for a trim but in between I cut my bangs. It is not worth the $35.00 for someone to trim a 1/4 inch every three weeks.

I canceled my appointment with the hairdresser tomorrow because I did not want to spend $80 on a hair cut that falls apart after a month. I do need a proper hair cut though. Not sure what to do...
