I was at the Haircutting Salon today getting my basic three inch long conservative men's haircut that I get every six weeks. I have had the same haircut basically now for almost 10 years. About half way through the haircut a new customer sat down next to me and asked for a buzz cut. He was the standard middle aged conservative looking business man and his hair was maybe four inches long. He asked the stylist to buzz him with a number two clipper all over. It was quite a sight, all that hair hitting the floor. For a moment I wanted to follow him in and get a buzz cut also. My stylist said she would be glad to do it and thought it would look good. But I chickened out and was concerned my wife, boss and coworkers would laugh at me. Should I have gone for it?

Sure why not! I happen to think it looks sexy! If you don't like it, you can always grow it back out.

I like them, my husband has one and it looks pretty good, he goes really short too.. Good thing its just hair, men can wear caps and it'll grow out in about 2-3 weeks enough where it won't be an issue if you don't like it

My husband started seeing a barber for his haircuts about six years ago and never looked back. He keeps his hair really short and goes about every three to four weeks. He once had his haircut by a new barber in the shop, who it turns out was an ex-marine. He came home looking like sergeant Carter in Gomer Pyle. My philosophy with hair is that it will always grow back.

I love buzz cuts!!!
I normally am a long-hair-guy kinda girl but every once in a while when they buzz it all off I cant help but wonder why they let it grow out in the first place : )

I think you should only get them if you are in the military. They look silly on older men and make other men look like skinheads

They're quite comfortable during hot summers...just one reason I like to get my hair cut super short. Another reason is that my hair is naturally curly, and the shorter it is, the straighter it is. Curls are for girls.

The buzzcut the man got was 1/2 inch long all over, so there was no skin but no comb needed either.

I find them hideous, personally. I have a close friend at West Point and we joke that the buzz cut is part of the military humiliation and break down process, right up there with the hideous glasses and changing around roommates every quarter. :P

To each his own, though.

I tend to agree with charolastra. I like a man with hair.
My older son wears one, though. I think he does the #3 clipper.
