Try a SLS free one. Burts Bee's makes one thats nice. You may need conditioner with that one if you tend to be dry. SLS can thin the hair.

That would be sodium laurel sulfate, it is one of the main ingredients in most shampoos except higher end/natural products.

Jasons Natural Thin-to-Thick shampoo/conditioner set seems to have a lot of good reviews.
I usually buy Biotin shampoo to alleviate scalp itch.. A lot of the organic shampoos that claim hair thickening properties have that ingredient. I like the Nature's Gate biotin shampoo/conditioner set and the Jason Natural H-24 Biotene shampoo/conditioner sit.

Mane 'n Tail Shampoo ...it's a horse shampoo for their mane and tail and it's safe for human hair. Retail stores sell it but I don't know if it's the same formula as the equine stores. My daughter used it and she bought it at the Tractor Supply Store. Check it out at Amazon or Google it.

oil
I heard East Indian apply coconut oil or olive oil on their hair and that make a thick coating to their hair, and the hair would be thicker and stronger, won't split end.
Howeve, why would you want to thincken your hair, isn't soft natural hair much nicer and natural?
Don't make it too thick, like my ex said, it feels like wire.

Chemicals can thin your hair (and are very bad for our water systems and environment) - watch out for styling products as well as hair color and other chemical treatments. Go natural and use a good quality organic shampoo and your hair quality will improve. If you feel you must color, use henna. Henna will also make your hair feel really nice! It's a really good conditioner.
