It use to be that the blond blue eyed women were considered the perfect ideal of beauty. But here in the Washington DC area, I see very few blonds anymore. In fact most women here have dark hair and darker skin. With all the talk about the glories of ethnic diversity, I am afraid just being White is considered out of date. Being multi racial is in, white is out. And with that thinking being blond haired and blue eyed is so 20th Century! Agree?

I think you're right to a degree. I believe that much of the world has finally opened up to the fact that beautiful people come in all sorts of flavors. So, I don't think being blonde-haired and blue-eyed is necessarily out, but that other looks are in, too. It's a good thing.

When were blonde, blue-eyed women ever the ideal?

Blondes may have had more fun, but did they have to have blue eyes to do so?

Not really...They change the look of whats hot or not every year. I don't think blonde is gone. I do think however that people don't have the money to keep up with it like they used to. Also the natural wave or products and look is more popular so there are less bottle blondes.

I think it all depends on the city you are in greatly when it comes to looks.

I wouldnt go so far as to say that blonde hair blue eyes are no longer ideal, but I will say that there is something much more exciting and sexy about the more exotic looks of a Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Catherine Zeta Jones, Allesandra Ambrosio or Adriana Lima.

There are still some very beautiful and sexy blondes out there - Edyta Slewinksa (from Dancing with the Stars), Kristen Chenoweth, or Hayden Panettere. But for the most part, the darker haired and exotic looking women are more the norm when it comes to sexiness nowadays. Besides, the blonde/Blues are like going to a Ben and Jerrys or Cold Stone Ice Cream parlor and just ordering up plain vanilla instead of all the more exciting flavors available.

I never really considered this to be the ideal look, although it does look really good on some girls.

As someone else mentioned, I think society is just more accepting of diversity, it doesn't mean blonde haired, blue eyes woman are now considered UNattractive or old fashioned. There's plenty of blonde celebrities out there who are considered beautiful and some even still dye their hair blonde.
