Where do you get your hair done? Your recommendations
Do you go to one of the chain salons? Or a long time favorite? What is your experience for the service you receive? Do you go to different salons for different services, e.g. Color, haircut, etc?
What city are you in and who do you recommend? And what do you pay? Thank you!

I have had success at JCPenney Salon, I have ethnic hair and I always request an ethnic stylist.
I travel alot for work, so I have to find a quality salon everywhere I go, in my hometown of Denver, I found a great stylist (not JCP but a trendy place near downtown) that has done my hair once and I loved it. I plan to be a regular client when I get back.
I usually pay around 85.00 for a relaxer which includes a style. I like to use a clear color rinse for shine, this got expensive so started doing those myself at home, you can buy the same products at Sally's.
A wash and set is usually 40-50.00 for me.

I'm in Orlando and go to Fantastic Sam's on the west side of town.
Ly has been cutting my hair for years. I usually pay 14.00 then tip her three.
Nobody else seems to understand my hair.

Thanks for the responses.
Wow - now that's a bargain. I have been doing my own color all my life with rare exception. Now that I have to deal with greying hair, that adds a whole new dimension. So, I've gone back to my trendier hairdresser where I pay $55 for color and $5 a foil if I want highlight or two. The haircut/blow is $50.
I am not a girly-girl. And going once a month is a big deal. If I could find a hair color product (dark blonde) that wouldn't vanish within a week or two on my greying roots, I would go back to doing my own hair color. I found one at Sally's and need to give that another try - it's called Ion.

My son and I go to Toni & Guy here in Tampa. We used to go to the one out in Phoenix, so I'm happy they have one here too for us.
I pay 55 plus tip every 4 weeks for my son for the level 4 stylist.
My hair costs me for color with a level 4 stylist anywhere between 150-300, depending what I want done with color and how dramatic (going a darker shade of blonde w/ highlights VS staying all platinum for touch-ups) Basic trim and that kaboodle costs me $85 plus tip.
There are cheaper out there, but we've tried them and were not happy. Finally someone who gets it right the first time around.
