My beloved Chi steaightening iron broke--the ON/OFF button fell completely out of the aparatus. I was wondering if any of you girls (or guys) who have Chis know if/where I can get it repaired? I don't have the warranty or receipt and am willing to pay full price for a repair. I figure it's better than buying a new one.

Thanks so much!

Well if the button fell out it could have melted inside. I wouldnt use it. You could start a fire. Maybe its a fake as they have a problem with that.

Get a new one from folica:
CHI Ceramic Flat Iron (Original CHI), GF1001, Free Shipping

They will take it back for up to a year if something happens.

Can you contact the Ebay seller...Maybe they can provide you with some info...If it is even semi new, it should be under warranty.

So, what are some tell-tale signs mine is a fake? It came in a Chi-Box and everything.

I bought a Chi at Christmas at Sam's Club and it worked for about 6 weeks and then broke. Thankfully, Sam's Club took it back with no receipt since their computers keep a record of all member purchases. I was VERY disappointed in the amount of time that it lasted. I probably only used it 20 times or so, but my hair did look much nicer while it worked.

One is use someone else's real chi flatiron. It feels different. Look up the model number with chi and compare the pictures. But it could be real too. I would just go ahead and get a new one from a place you can trust. You will see the details in the refinement of the product. Heating elements that heat really fast like that can always have a problem. So even a real chi can have issues. I bet if you took it to your stylist she could tell right away.

I would first contact the CHI consumer help site. Find out if it is a fake. If it is, I would go to EBAY and file a complaint there. I would also file a complaint with paypal (if you made paymet through them) because it is not what it was claimed to be...if they did tell you it was a legit CHI iron. You can get a full refund if it is a fake... I would take your refund and get a real CHI.
