I've had several versions of red through-out my life...only a bit of it was natural (just add sun and the hint of auburn becomes prominent). I've always wanted to do the trashy 'Blondie' with roots, but husband has so far talked me out of that...;)
I think you'd look quite nice with a medium red - not too light (copper) and not too dark (auburn). Find a happy medium, similar to what you've shown us or perhaps a shade lighter.
Are you going to color from a bottle or pay someone to do it? If you can swing the luxury, I'd suggest you try that route to be able to discuss this with a professional and have the ability to highlight/lowlight. Otherwise the color might be a bit saturated and scare you until you get used to it.
Do you go in the sun, as in bathing or sports? Careful there...it will alter your color.
(I occasionally had orange hair in the 80's...it was intentional.)

Reason: FinD, not fine.
i have been coloring my hair red for 14+ years. i would never change to anything else.i have used either dark red or, for spring and summer, light red. i always love it. i don't think i'd go blonde ever. nothing against blondes but it would clath with my olive complexion. so for me you get a yay on the red
Hey everyone! Havent been online in ages, but I have dyed my hair n got a fringe. I went to the hairdressers n asked for that exact colour but the girl said I should go for a more vibrant bright colour of red - I did just that and love it!
My friends who were all against the red idea thinks it looks great (but their my friends they have to be nice, right?). Im really pleased, ill get a picture up as soon as possible.
Thanks for advice

Nope Im the one in black n red lipstick -
I just read this thread, and before I read your post I was going to recommend that you do go red. I am really excited to see the picture, and by the way, I think you have gorgeous features. A quite lovely jawline. Anyway, I'm glad you like it and hope to see a picture soon.
I am currently a zapped up red head and I like it I have had it red from time to time and it is odd as it seems to bring strong reactions from people either LOVING IT or hating on it I have strangers telling me they love it people calling me ho's and yelling out REBA REBA...which I find rude. I still like it a lot. Because it fades so quickly I tend to tire of getting it dyed every four weeks and will go back to red and blond foils every eight weeks after a spell

Wow-that is SO rude. I once had someone refer to me as 'She's redhead like a devil'.
Red. as long as it's a warm not cool red.Be aware that red will wash out a lot.I would go for some blended (not stripey!) lighter lights through it so you get the multi-dimensional look - all over red can make your hair look quite flat.Red will wash out a lot so make sure to use cool water and a color care shampoo to wash-sure you know that anyway.
