Hi everyone! Okay ladies I'm looking for a ponytail holder that will actually hold my long heavier hair and not slide down. There is that new 80's type ponytail look that I love (actually it probably originated from the 50- 60's but came back in the 80's and now it's here again. None of my ponytail holders that I have will hold my ponytail in place. They either are too small where I can't wrap the holder around my hair the third time and two times isn't enough. Or they are too loose and even though I can wrap it around 4 times it still makes my ponytail slide down and not hold it where I want it.

The look is where the ponytail is kinda medium high and a little puffed at the top back of the head (teased) and two long piece of hairs on both sides of your face frame your face. I love that look and am I'm seeing it in magazines and on TV. It's NOT the old Madonna look with a cone on top of her head though. I just dyed my hair dark brown (from blond) and it seems I only see it on brunettes but it looks so cute and will go into fall and winter well with mock tops and turtlenecks with hoop earrings (think 80's). Anyways, are there any recommendations for ponytail holders? The ones I have are from Goody and they aren't working for me. Thanks!

Have you tried Goody's headbands. I bought the ones that are about 1/2 inch and just wrap it around several times for a full ponytail. My daughter's hair is very thick though, so it may not work for you.

I have very long, very thick hair and I often have issues finding a hairband that I don't have to use 3 at a time for.

I don't have the packaging anymore--so I can't tell you the brand, but I love this certain type that is like a normal band, but has little "ridges" on it, that hold the hair in place. I think that it may be Goody brand--I know I just got it at Target or something.
