There are a lot of good products on the market now. Try different products until you find what works best for your daughter. Products like Nexxus (Therappe, Humectress), WEN (Sweet Almond Mint, Fig), and Carol's Daughter are good places to start. I agree with others who have mentioned not washing her hair too often. Once or twice a week is enough. Your daughter's hair should be covered at night. A satin scraf of hair covering should help. Are you using a wide tooth comb when her hair is wet?
There are plenty of sites that offer advice as well.

I have heard good things about their deep conditioner. The Curly Qs line is for kids and also may be worth trying. Also, Oyin Handmade is a good line.
ANOTHER vote for Curly Girl! I've been a fan for over 10 years and have taught many people how to do it, and given advice on a hair forum for years, etc., it's really the 'only' way to go for very curly hair because the curlier it is the more bent the cuticle is and more moisture escapes the hair, and the whole purpose of this technique is to remoisturize the hair and keep it that way, whereas shampoo can never be totally removed (as it happens when trying to rinse detergent off of a sponge) and the residue contributes to the roughness of the hair, dullness and breakage. Besides, nature put "sebum" in our scalp to protect it so it's foolish to be constantly removing it with a harsh shampoo. The only shampoo I'd recommend is "Cream of Nature", but why spend on both when a good conditioner can do both? And the more natural the better, we already get too many chemicals into our bodies as it is!
