I wanted to know if anyone has been to the VA Beach Ampitheatre and sat in the lawn section. We don't care to be up close and we would like to take food and drinks with us. Is the view from the lawn at least decent and is it on somewhat of a slope?

Thanks!

I don't think you can bring drinks into the Amp. They search you when you go in. Wish you could bring drinks in though b/c one beer is like $9. Non-Alcoholic beverages/food may be allowed but not sure about that. I have always remembered it to be pretty strict though when coming into the venue. I would usually go out to eat and have drinks before a show and bring enough cash for just a few beers.

If you sit on the lawn you can still see the show somewhat but they have big screens as well. I actually prefer lawn unless I have amazing seats up front.

I havent been to the amphitheatre in over 10 years, but I did go to two shows there, one under the roof in a relatively decent seat, and one on the lawn.

Personally, I wouldnt pay anything for a lawn seat (the only reason I was there was because it was free). I dont know if its improved any, but the acoustics and sound are terrible unless you are right up on top of the covered part. If you sit further back, you will find yourself watching the show on the giant screens rather then the stage, and to me, that completely defeats the purpose of a live show.

From my observations, it appeared people on the lawn were more enjoying tossing footballs around and chatting then watching the show at all.

The lawn is generally a festive atmosphere but I absolutely hate the venue. It is way to large and expensive. I'd much rather see an outdoor show at Portsmouth's Ntelos Pavillion.

Third!

But if you do end up at the Amphitheater on the lawn, it's not too bad. But I've never paid more than $15 bucks for a lawn ticket, and never will, and I haven't been to the Amphitheater in a good 7 years or so, so like someone mentioned before me it could've improved.

The lawn is on a slope though, and by the end of the show the grass is usually slippery, so be careful if you've been drinking the whole time.

Prices have gone up, so has the beer.
