So I'm moving to VA Beach soon and am in the process of looking for a home.

I'm looking at the VA Beach area with townhomes. Can someone recommend neighborhoods that are safe? I have a 4 month old son and since we are going to be in this home for several years, I want us to be safe.

Some areas I am looking at are Rosemont, Green Run, Tallwood, Kempsville, etc.. In the Indian Lakes, Holland, Princess Anne, Dam Neck, LynnHaven areas. I'm open to other areas as well, so long as they are safe.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Quite a few of those you named are questionable. Green Run, Holland, Tallwood, Dam Neck, Indian Lakes and Lynnhaven all could be problem areas.

As for Kempsville, thats a pretty large area, and depending on where you go, it could be pretty good (like the string of townhouses in Fairfied), or it could be a dump, like the townhouses down Lord Dunmore across Providence.

Generally speaking, from my observations, townhouses in Virginia Beach are generally linked with below average areas. I cant think of more then maybe a couple townhouse complexes that arent at the epicenter of lower end areas.

Generally speaking, the only townhouses in Virginia Beach that I would avoid at all cost would be anything along Lynnhaven Parkway, or just off of Lynnhaven Parkway, including Green Run, and anything in the Newtown area, including Lake Edward. Other then that, most of the other areas in Va Beach are "relatively" safe, and usually if you leave people alone theyll leave you alone.
