What's in a name? Chic's Beach | HamptonRoads.com | PilotOnline.com

I do live there part time and that's what everyone there calls it...
The first line of that article says "Chic's (or Chick's)..." It also says the official name is Chesapeake Beach anyway. Spell it however you want, but in no way does adding the "k" deem someone as a non-local.

Well I am a Chick's local. That's what I was saying. I grew up at Chick's Beach. I moved to the area with my family when I was 8 years old and didn't leave until I was 22. My family, and many of my friends, still live in the area.

If you want to spell it "Chic's" after a guy who had a hot-dog stand on the beach 50 years ago, by all means go for it. It makes no difference to me. The only reason I responded was because your initial post offended me.

Fair enough.

My apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread.

Back to the restaurants, has anyone been to Steinhilber's recently? We were disappointed last time we ate there (last summer) and it used to be a favorite. I heard they got a new chef, though. We were thinking it would be fun to take a water taxi there.

One time I saw Chick Corea eating at a Chick-fil-A at Chick's Beach.
