Hey folks. I'll be vacationing with my family in Williamsburg in two weeks. This vacation falls right in the middle of training for my first marathon and I was hoping to get a few longer runs in (10-20 miles).

Does anyone know of any running routes I could check out? Greenway trails wold be nice. We'll be staying at Kings Creek Plantation near Water Country. I've checked a few websites that list Colonial Parkway as a potential route. Is this a good place to run?

Check mapmyrun.com for a peek at the suggested routes of fellow runners.

If you park at Jamestown High School, you will have access to the Capitol Bike Trail... definitely 8 miles in one direction, if the Sherwood Forest section is completed (it is supposed to be completed this year), you will have access to an additional 13.5 miles each way.

Perfect! I looked at the site for the Capitol Bike Trail. Is there another access point in Williamsburg?

You can also park at the Chickahominy River Front Park, futther down Route 5, just before the bridge crosses the river.
