ETA by chilly I mean in the 70s.
This is the norm, but given the temps right now, I'm predicting it will be a little warmer this October...thoughts?

I hope not!!! I'm looking forward to being able to open the windows, and shutting the AC off. You're probably correct though. It'll go directly from 100 to snow again. I really hope this winter is not like last. I'm pretty sure the EL Nino that caused last winter's snow ended.

Ok thanks everyone for your opinions and facts, but i am still not sure about the temperate/subtropical debate. I will create a new post on that and give my criteria for a subtropical place.

I hear ya, but I've had my windows open a couple days in the evening when the winds were happening. I'm not an a/c person by no means, I deal with the 65 deg. temps at work. I just love the cool fall temps, the chilly evenings when sleep is great and out at the trailer when cooking on the fire isn't in the heat of the evening. I'm not one for frigid temps though. Anything above 40 is comfortable.
