Anyone know who the best divorce attorneys in the area are? I want a serious pit bull lawyer who will get me everything they can.

Everything they can or everything that is fair?

Best option if you want to "stick it" to your spouse is to pull out the 'ole yellow pages, find the Lawyer section, find ones that advertise specialty in divorce... and then ask them if they are more in line with "as civil a divorce as possible" or "sticking the ex-spouse in the crapper and mopping the floor with him/her".

Everything they can? That appears spiteful...

I would shoot for what is fair. If your divorce has no children, getting a fair divorce is going to be much quicker and require less heartache than "get me everything they can".

If there is children involved, I would be all about doing what is fair and right. No matter what you do, you are going to be stuck with the "X" spouse till at least the youngest is out of high school, why make it worse than it's already going to be, especially when the kids are the ones who will be the most hurt, no matter what you do?

No kids, thank god. I wouldn't judge without knowing the circumstances...

No judgment involved, but having gone through the experience, and having friends go through this, I am just stating a fact.

The more fighting there is, the longer the takes, the more bitterness there is, and the more upset all parties are.

The less arguement there is over "stuff" the faster it is, and the quicker you get the other person out of your life. Like i said, no judgment, just cold facts.

I am an engineer, we have a different view on things. The cup is neither half full nor half empty. It's simply 2 times larger than the contents require the container to be.

When you make statements like:

You open the door to negative criticism. It's probably a good thing you two don't have kids because you do come off as spiteful.

Spiteful Ex-spouses-to-be's + kids = Recipe for disaster.

Your best bet is to come to terms with whatever is ending the marriage and move on from there. Get yourself a lawyer whose goal is to end the marriage as civil as possible. As long as you are civil, fair, and just, no matter how bad or evil your ex-spouse-to-be is - you'll come out looking that much better.
