My wife and I are moving to VB in April, as she took a higher paying job in the area, and we're pretty interested in The Mayflower Seaside Apartments right on the oceanfront. I wanted to see if anyone has lived or currently lives there that could give me an unbiased review???

I've read some reviews from several websites, and I found generally mixed reviews. Apparently, there was a lot of drama involving the staff sometime in 2010, which caused several bad reviews. The biggest complaint that I've seen is a problem with water leaks. I would expect this to occur from time to time for a building that is located right on the ocean. Renter's insurance will definitely be my best friend just in case.

Are there any other things I should know about this place??

My wife and I are hoping that a 1 bedroom will become available before the time comes to move, however, we are considering looking into the studio apartment if one does not become available. If anyone is in a studio apartment, could you provide some more detail as to how spacious the place is? We've lived in a studio apartment before, we'd just have to make a few concessions to downsize.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. If you don't recommend this apartment building, could I get some references as to other places near the oceanfront that are nice?

Thanks!!!

The Studio apt is small but if it's just you and your wife, it wouldn't be bad. I would estimate it to be about 800 sq ft. You will be within walking distance to restaurants and the beach. For a temp place, it's decent. You might want to check out the local paper for other rental options available: hamptonroads.com
