You might want to check out housing at Ft Monroe. The homes there will be offered for rent to military families, retirees and Department of Defense civilians at BAH rates matching the size and type of the unit being offered.
On September 15, 2011 the Fort Monroe Authority, a political sub-division of the Commonwealth of Virginia, will assume management responsibility for Fort Monroe at Old Point Comfort and operate the 565-acre site for the benefit of the state and its citizens. It will be open to all. All property will be available for short term or long term (50 year) leases after September 15, 2011. Pre-leasing arrangements are encouraged.
Anyone interested in living on Fort Monroe now or in the future is encouraged to visit www.fortmonroeauthority.com for updated information.
