Hardly any parents control their children out in public anymore. It's disgusting the things I see going on with the lack of any kind of control.

Maybe it's just that we're 'old school' and we remember being taught to be quiet and not disturb other patrons of a library.

It's not just the tots, adults speak in loud conversational terms to each other and the librarians make no effort to moderate their volume, either. The libraries here have "quiet rooms" for patrons who want to read/study in peace ... used to be the whole library was a "quiet room". We've lost any sense of civility in our culture, and when we call someone on their incivility we're accused of "disrespecting" them.

If that makes me a grumpy old man, then I'm proud to be a grumpy old man.
