5.8 on the Richter scale, felt all the way up to DC and NY and Ohio. Epicenter was supposed to be in Virginia. Haven't heard that confirmed.

It's confirmed that the epicenter was by Mineral, VA - about halfway between Richmond and Charlottesville. When it happened, I seriously thought I was having a low-blood sugar episode until somebody else in the building yelled "What the *f-bomb* is that?!"

Here's the info (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Quakes/usc0005ild.php - broken link).

Also. Just pointing out. We have the fire, an earthquake, and a possible hurricane. What else could go wrong?

Surreal... I'm sitting at my dining room table and my feet went one way and the table went the other.

Me too. I guess that pretty much covers it for me... hurricanes, tornadoes, hail storms, dust storms, snow storms, nor'easters and now an earthquake! Wonder if that means I'm done?

I thought I was passing out until I realized the house was moving not me!!!! There was a loud crack, but I don't see anything. My husband will need to check the attic. I've been in CA and AK quakes this was VERY different. West coast quakes are sudden and rumbly not slow and rolling.

LOL, Rita! That's not funny but it's actually kind of 'funny' if you know what I mean.

It's definitely amusing to me. The swaying like that is definitely how my body feels when my blood sugar tanks. @_@ I, for one, was thankful the feeling was from an earthquake and not me about to pass out.
