Question Where to get it all in Va.

My husband and I are interested in moving to Va. He is retired and loves to garden. I may continue to work in Media sales or just pursue my art. We both like a lively town with great cafes, restaurants, art and events but we want to either live in a country setting or on the water. So far Cape Charles is #1 choice but want to experience Gloucester, Urbanna area as it is closer for working.
Any words of wisdom as to where might be best? Oh, and can you swim anywhere or are the jelly fish too bad?

My parents love Urbanna. It is great for people who love the water (sailing is my parents hobby) and quaint little shops and cafes, like you said. It takes a little while to get to the malls and all, but thats why they love it.

Oh yeah, you can definitely swim there! Jellyfish are there but you can usually seem when they are bad and then you just don't swim that day. Worst case scenario you get stung, its not that bad!

Thank you, sancynicole, I'll make sure that we check out Urbanna. As for jelly fish, when I get stung I'll tell myself that you said it's not that bad!

I'll have to look at real estate prices. We have two properties to sell and the market is dead. Hope to get into Va. for $500,000 or less.
