Default Move to Fort Lee or Commute?

I have orders for Fort Lee but Husband's job is in Hampton. Is there a safe place to live during the week at Fort Lee area for a single woman or should I commute from Hampton to Fort Lee. Any suggestions welcomed.

Hampton to Fort Lee is going to be rough during the summer months. I think finding a place is doable, it just depends on your budget.

I dont know about safe but definitely not exciting imo. Your options are Chester, Hopewell, Prince George and Petersburg. There's probably a happy medium between Hampton and Prince George (Fort Lee) so maybe you both can share the commute so you can go home every day.

Yeah I would think that somewhere East of Richmond preferably close to I-295 and I-64 would be a break even point.

I'm not a huge fan of the Fort Lee area, but Chester should be fine for you. You could try to commute, but this would make life during the week less than ideal. You could both live in New Kent, but I believe that most of the housing is new, higher end, single family homes, which might not be what you want if you are renting. Williamsburg is also an option if you live in the Route 5/southwestern area.
