Default Favorite Things About Hampton Roads?

If you have checked my profile, then you already may have known this, but I have lived in VA Beach for 3 years. Best 3 years of my adult life, I met my fiance here, adopted my now 10 year old son, and have made many new friends. I hale from the cold lands of Minnesota, a lovely city, but death in the winter. I went to College in PA, and moved to Charlotte to work at my first journalism job. I m oved here in 2008, because I got a job at an online publication. My most favorite parts/things about the area is the WEATHER. Much warmer than Minnesota, and more humid than Charlotte. I enjoy the humidity. The beach and resort areas are great. Pocahontas pancakes is to DIE FOR. By far the best breakfast restaurant in the area. I love the history of P-town and Norfolk, the malls and shopping areas are very convenient. And Wawa is my guilty pleasure. The marinas are gorgeous, I love the Chesapeake. There is so much I just love about this city, I am not gonna get tired of it anytime soon. Leave your favorite things about the area below. (And if you wanted to know, I am located in Sandbridge)

You and me both! I came from the frozen tundra via the world travels. Love VB and always look forward to coming "home" after being on the road.

That little open space right next to the water off at the end of College Dr off I-664 is going to hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life. That was the last spot me and my dad got to really hang out before he passed away.

Another favorite is Yorkshire Downs. Me and my boys did a lot of wild stuff while I lived there. 10 years of good times.

Walking with my wife and dogs on the Boardwalk in the off season (was 65 degrees last weekend)
Walking from Waterside, through Town Point Park, past the "letters" memorial, past the U.S.S. Wisconsin, past the Pagoda, and through the Freemason district.
Kayaking through all of the various rivers, inlets, streams, bays, and beaches
Cheap golf at Kempsville, Honey Bee, Lake Wright, Stumpy Lake, Lambert's Point, or Ocean View
Eating at Tautogs, Manninos, Crocs, Pho79, Luna Maya, Taste Unlimited, Pocahontas Pancakes, Broken Egg Bistro, Yummy Korean BBQ, Papa's Greek Family Restaurant, El Loro Mexican, and all of the other good restaurants around.
The Aquarium and Ocean Breeze Water Park
Mount Trashmore, Woodstock, and Redwing Parks
Taking day trips to OBX, NOVA, Washington D.C., Shenandoah National Park, Massanutten, Baltimore, Raleigh, Richmond, Charlotte etc...
Being able to see a Tides, Admirals, Sharx, or Destroyers game for under $15.
Good beach weather in the summer, perfect outdoors weather in the fall and spring, and a short mild winter.

Owning a home for under $200k in an area with low crime, good amenities, and quality public schools

I could go on but that should do for now...
