My husband is considering a job with a company whose office is in Lynnhaven near Walmart and he will also spend time "at Virginia Beach, on the ships" (per the recruiter...yes, I know it is vague).

We are in our 30's/40's but have two children under age 4.

Our priorities in looking for a community to rent in are:

-Safety (husband will be traveling)

-Schools (more concerned with K-6 at this point)

-Affordable (we are trying to go from dual income to one and need to really cut costs...so $1200-1500 target range -- prefer a house but a great apartment or condo will be considered, we'd even consider a built up area if there are good parks, pools, etc)

-Healthy family community vibe

-Access to waterways for kayaking highly desired but not required

I understand from reading here that Lynnehaven is NOT a community we would be interested in. What else is out there within a 30 minute commute?

Thanks for your input!

Lynnhaven is a vast area of many neighborhoods. Green Run is the only one I purpose not to live in. Let me know if you are still interested and I will send you some information
