Possible business location in va beach?
When we relocate to Va Beach area I plan to open a shop (fashion Jewelry, purses, etc....) and take a try at it.
Any suggestions as to high traffic touristy areas to put the business in?
Safety issues? What business areas to stay away from?
Also, on average , what does a retail space rent for (just an idea).
Thanks,

I know the malls have little kiosks set up, and always advertise for those interested in setting up a business. The VB malls are Lynnhaven and Pembroke. In Chesapeake you have Greenbrier and Chesapeake Square, and in Norfolk there's MacArthur and Military Circle.
But as you probably know, VB is a large city, so what part do you plan to move to? That way, you can figure out which mall is closer.
There's also plenty of shopping centers in the area, near the malls and otherwise, mainly off your main roads, i.e. Virginia Beach Blvd.

centre, you might want to check out the Hilltop area. A pretty good clientele around and close enough to the beach. the touristy areas at the beach are really only trafficed in the late spring and summer, some early fall. winter would be deadsville for you.

With regards to your selection of a business location, please keep in mind when looking at these areas (the new Town Center is another one - not necessarily tourist-y, but does get a lot of traffic) that your rents will be directly proportionate to the area you select. Since your price points will really dictate your clientele they will also help in determining your location. I suggest checking the demographics (ages, income, etc.) of the area you consider for your business. Consider all of your options in conjunction with your business plans - we have great enclosed malls, regional centers and community centers. Just some thoughts!
