7am, first Virginia Beach Paddle for the Cure
Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center, 2800 Shore Drive
7am – registration opens
8:15am – registration closes
9am – first event starts
Cost: Elite race $50, Pink Paddle Flotilla $30/person (team must have minimum of four people) or $40 (solo); Beach Walkers $30, Young Guns $25 (16 years old and younger); $25 (for any event), plus $15 event charge for rental of water equipment(if needed).

Participants will help "paint" the Chesapeake Bay and beach pink as they set out in one of three different activities. Proceeds benefit the Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G Komen for the Cure.
First event is at 9am, the Stand-up Paddleboard Race.
Next event is at 9:10am, the Pink Paddle Flotilla
At the same time, a one-mile beach walk will start for those who wish to stay out of the water.
There will be a disc jockey, silent auction, raffle, awards ceremony, food and drinks on site followed by an after-party at Hot Tuna restaurant across Shore Drive. Bidders are also welcome to place bids online before midnight May 11 to win a chance to paddle an aqua cycle during the event. The aqua cycle takes two people to operate.

Tickets for the 2012 A Taste of New Kent Wine Festival are now available at the winery. Spend the day tasting wines from 14 wineries, plus enjoy live music, local arts and crafts vendors, carriage rides and a variety of foods! The date for this year’s festival is May 12, 2012. Tickets are $25 at the winery before May 12th or $35 at the gate on the day of the event. Online ticket sales will be available soon.
