I wonder if those side gates have less congestion problems?

I've been posting them in bits and pieces. My hope is posting them a little at a time will encourage more comments, which after all is the point. I took the photos to learn about the area, and I really hope they inspire people to write a few comments about what it's like to live there and if my photos are a fair representation.

Tomorrow I think I'll post the shots of New Town. I'm a little hesitant because they were shot on a rainy day and early on a Sunday morning, so maybe not the most journalistic photos. But, that was the time I happened to be there. Then I'll post the photos from Yorktown. The thread's called photos and notes or something like that.

By the way, if anyone wants to add photos, that would be great. Or maps like the flood maps. Whatever you think would be interesting to add.

ps Love Autumn: be sure to check out the photos of Gloucester Courthouse. I have a feeling that's a place you'd really like.

They don't? Well that's cool to know. I guess it was just an assumption on my part.

The Ford's colony gate that's right where longhill road meets 199 is really bad around 5-5:30 on a weekday.

Caladium, I can say there is no congestion problem at the Kingsmill gates. As mentioned in my previous post there is a separate lane for residents and a bar code reader scans a sticker on your car then the gate opens. We live off the 199 entrance. Another thing we like about the location is that right across 199 from Kingsmill is a Harris Teeter, very convenient having it close by and it is open 24 hours.

One other plus related to Kingsmill (if you commute to work in Newport News) is the location about as convenient as it gets in Williamsburg to get to NN. I live 31 miles from where I work NN and the commute only takes 35 minutes - very pleasant drive from 199 down I-64.
