Angry For All looking to Move to Norfolk, Porstmouth, VBeach, Hampton, etc.

Please do not let some of these bitter/negative people on this forum deter you from this lovely area!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Hampton Roads/Tidewater metro area has lots to offer to everyone and anyone from anywhere.

Yes I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but dont let someones negative experience or comments be the deciding factor for you.
Take them into consideration but as you know, there are "different strokes, for different folks!"

This metro and its cities may not be all that perfect, but we have problems with government, crime, housing, etc. just like anywhere else.

thats all i have for now..............

Very true....I'm looking at making the move from panama City, Fl to HR area soon. I'm just looking for a more young active culture. PC is where I would go to wind down my life or even start a family.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Mr Williamsburg will become famous soon enoughMr Williamsburg will become famous soon enough
As the others stated everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I wish there were more opinions on here from Virginians who enjoy living here. Most of the people I know say they are here to stay thru retirement age and this is from families in their 30's and 40's.
My father was born and raised in Virginia. He traveled the world after enlisting in the Navy. Lived in Paris, Hawaii, Florida, Illinois, California and Virginia. After retirement he chose to stay in Va Beach and live out his life there. I moved away to the Washington DC area and lived in Manassas VA , Gaithersburg, Potomac & Annapolis Md. We moved back to Virginia to Williamsburg and will never think of leaving . It is a great place to raise a family.

I agree Mr. Williamsburg. I wish more happy, contented folks from the area were on these message boards as well. But guess what? These boards are for folks that are moving.... and if you are happy and content and going about your normal life, you may not even know that it exists!!! So, when the public reads these boards, they need to keep that in mind.

Shelly

I am very content with where I am in my life, I don't think because I decide to relocate out of the area has any reflection on how content I am with myself or my life. I gave it a chance here - almost all of my life and have not found this to be the place for me.

We personally can't afford to live here anymore. My fiance and I make a great living between the two of us and can't find a house to purchase in a decent area in our price range.

Emeraldgirl, so you are looking to move on.... so you are in fact LOOKING!! That means that something in your life isn't content... Even if someone loves the place they are, and get a job transfer... something changes and they have to move on. It is forcing change upon them.

Emerald, where have you been looking to live? there are some very nice homes in very nice areas of VS available.... Where are you looking to move to?

shelly

I am looking because the real estate here in this particular part of VA is out of reach for me at this time. I am tired of throwing my money away every month in rent and really want to purchase a home.

I am fortunate to be in a great neighborhood in Ghent but could not afford to buy here. Don't get me wrong there are aspects of this area that I enjoy but having a house payment far beyond my means would not allow me to enjoy life here. I don't think that constitutes an unwillingness to try and make a life for myself here nor does it make me discontent, just practical.
