What exciting things can you do on the weekends? I'd like to hear from anyone who does things like, canoeing, horsebackriding, camping, we are a family of three and we can't stay in the house all weekend. Our friends just want to sit in the house but we did that back in New York. Help us out with some things to do!! No nightclubs, please! Any weekend warrior meeting groups out there?

Default outside things to do

Here are list of things we enjoy doing in the HR area...

Norfolk Botanical Garden located next to the airport. Miles and miles of beautiful scenery for walking, jogging, strolling. Has an excellent Children's Garden, as well.

Oak Grove Park in Chesapeake. It has a beautiful walking, jogging, biking trail that is approx. 2 miles long. It's in the woods and the trail follows the outline of the lake. Gorgeous when the leaves are turning bright red and orange. The park is located a few streets behind the Home Depot off Battlefield Blvd.

Dismal Swamp Canal Trail in Chesapeake. We take our kids and bike the trail. They allow horses as well. No automobile traffic, it's in the woods next to the canal. Very peaceful.

First Landing State Park. Great for hiking in the woods, great beach area. We've never camped there but it is allowed.

Northwest River Park...great for canoeing. We've never been canoeing there, but have heard good things from friends.
