Has anybody else been to this place? It. Is. Awesome!! We went there last night on the recommendation of a friend--great food--totally creative menu, but in, like a diner setting. Love it! But we were the only ones there on a Friday night.

Don't let this place die, people--Newport News needs more good independent restaurants!!

Thanks for posting. We'll give it a try. I pulled this up:

Midtown Eats now open in Newport Square - dailypress.com

It sure is not visible from Rt. 17.

Ha! What does it say about me that I have no idea how much the drinks are? In general, the place was very affordable, but, really, with four kids under ten, my main objective in going out to eat is to get in, get them fed, and get out without anything blowing up. This place was great--good food, very relaxed and kid-friendly, but also somewhere I'd like to hang out just with my husband or a friend (not that I ever get much of a chance!).

They have a FB page that might give you some idea what the prices are. Just type in Midtown Eats--it'll come up on the pull-down menu.

And no, Lily, they sure don't make the place easy to find, do they?
