We are considering the possibility of owning a second (vacation) home in the Williamsburg area. Would love something in one of the resort areas with amenities. Is there a very good market in the area for vacation rentals? We're not looking for investment income - just trying to look for a way to help reduce the expense of owning a second home. We would primarily be using it during part of the summer and on holidays (to be close to family). Home or condo would need to cost less than 400K.

From my knowledge, Williamsburg does seem to have a good market for vacation rentals. The two most prominent resort communities that come to mind are Ford's Colony and Kingsmill (you can find their websites on google). They're both very large communities that contain golf courses, permanent residences, and resort areas/amenities.
