Hi there, everyone!

Does anyone know of any campgrounds or areas where one could park an RV for a while that might have monthly rates? My dad has retired and bought an RV and is hoping to spend a month out here every summer, but $50/mo at KOA seems steep. just wondering if anyone knew of any alternatives?

Thanks, everyone!

I'd look for state or local park sites. For example: Chippokes Plantation State Park
or
Newport News Park: Newport News Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism - Virginia

I believe they would have limits on the length of time you can stay, but they will certainly be cheaper than a KOA.

Also, if your father is retired military, look into the military sites: U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks - Kings Creek RV Campground

Here's another link that may help you. It's for RV camping in Hampton Roads. You'll note that they have five other campgrounds besides KOA listed for Virginia Beach.

Good luck.

I believe Va state parks limit you to 2 weeks.
