I made the mistake of running out of milk today. The grocery store was a mad house!! At least I get a snow day tomorrow lol

So far my back door is iced shut, but overall not a lot of snow maybe an inch or two. What about you guys?

4 inches in southwestern VB. I love how quiet it is with fresh snow on the ground. Got up at 4am like a kid on christmas to be the first one out there!

We have about 2-3 inches outside our back door in NN, but our street is pretty much impassable (ice). My husband took a half day, and the kids are getting ready to head outside right now! The littlest is sick and can't go out. I'm going to bring him in a big bucket of snow to play with, but, right now, he's thinking that's a pretty poor substitute (I'm inclined to agree).

Love the snow! Once a year.

We live in the far western side of VB near the Chesapeake and Norfolk city limits near Military Highway. We received about 2" in our front yards but we got around 4" in the back yard.

Front/side yard

Back yard and deck

But the power went out this morning for about an hour.

I'm so glad we didn't lose power, but with the tempature so cold outside our heat pump is having a hard time keeping up.

We switch our heat pump to emergency heat and use the heat strips instead when it's this cold out. It's more expensive to use but the air is hotter so it cycles less off and on.

They are heated coils. I imagine much like a hair dryer has.

I thought they were something separate from the emergency heat. I think we need a new heater.... Ours is old, and I am scared to see our electric bill....

On an up note we may get more snow Wednesday!!!
