I live in VB and was just wondering what other US cities are similar to VB in terms of population, culture and climate.

I know some will disagree, but I sometimes seem to think of Virginia Beach as the "Long Beach of the East Coast", since they are the among the largest suburban cities in the United States and are both coastal cities. Long Beach is the largest suburban city in the U.S., while Virginia Beach is the third largest behind Long Beach and Mesa (the latter in Arizona).

Very cool, I always thought I would like Long Beach, CA. I grew up in Va. Beach. I lived in Charleston, Sc for 13 years, after leaving Va. Beach. It is very similar to Va. Beach in some general ways as far a coastal, rivers, ocean, seafood , parks, marshland. But, Va. Beach is a Suburban Beach and thousands of tourists come for the Beach. In Charleston, people come for History and downtown. This is depressing to me - I like the Beach much more than History!!
Anyway, it seems from my travels, Jacksonville , FL is similar to Va. Beach, large suburban Beach City, and Myrtle Beach is similar in that it is a Toursist Beach, but is 1/10 the size of Va. Beach. I never went to Ocean City , so I don't know about that.

Plenty of cities in terms of population; Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, etc. Culture and climate; Long Beach or perhaps San Diego, in terms of culture. Virginia Beach has a very Midwestern suburban vibe to it; so no actual cities, but in terms of suburbia, there are plenty of options. Maybe Madison, WI, perhaps. Climate is easy; the entire MidAtlantic has a relatively similar climate so no science project there.
