Closed since 2001, the closed Ames building will become a Hobby Lobby. Also coming is a neighborhood Walmart Market and One Life Fitness. I'm just glad to see something will finally fill this space.

Of course, we move away and then Hobby Lobby decides to open! I wanted one in the area so bad! Oh well, glad that others in the area will have the option. They have some nice affordable yarns.

Ames building (?).. I don't remember an Ames being in there.. I remember Hill's all thru the mid 90s. But I moved out of Hampton Roads in the early 2000s, did Ames come in after Hill's or did it pre-date Hill's (?)

I remember that shopping center in it's '80s form.. Free-standing Pizza Hut out in the parking lot, Farm Fresh, there was a JJ July's at the end (that turned into a Mexican restaurant).. Bella Pizza in the mid 90s too.. Anyone else remember those spots, other defunct businesses (?) Was an Ames/Zayre there in the 80s too (?)

Lovely.

As if Pat Robertson wasn't enough, now we have to deal with another "Christian" hate group?

The overuse of the word hate in this kind of context is cheapening the word to the point that it almost has no meaning anymore. They don't want to be forced to provide insurance that covers the morning after pill because they believe it is equivalent to abortion... if you disagree you can call them hypocrites, misguided, or maybe a little sexist but they are not the KKK. The courts will decide if they are allowed to do that or not...
