I think the Cavalier is about 20 stories iirc and Orion's is atop. There are a number of great restaurants in the fashionable North End of Virginia Beach proper near the Oceans condominium complexes and the Cavaliers. Plus there are plenty good ones down Shore Drive.

Wisteria in VB. If you go, you have to have the Tomato Bisque!!!!! And the salad I had was great, too.

Caraba's salmon is awesome! The bread is good too. I'm not much for chain restaurants, but this one is very good.

I hesitate to put this out there, 'cause I don't want to have to wait next time I go, BUT...

The BoardWok is the best food I've eaten (aside from my wife's cooking that is!). It's just the best stuff out there.

The Boardwok Restaurant - Virginia Beach, Virginia

k. here is some insider dish.........

i used to work at Zoe's. Stay away. Simply stay away. Many friends have left, not because they were fired, but just because of the poor sanitation. The owners are crooks as well. I found that out after I left.

There is a place in vb called Pacifica. Very good and original tapas. Awesome people as well.

I mention "original" because many recipes/ideas are stolen from other chefs here. Which brings me to a place very close to Pacifica, called "Eat". The food is very good but the dishes are all stolen from other restaurants.

My favorite place is "Croc's" on 19th street in VB. This is the first certified green restaurant in Hampton Roads. Very very good atmosphere and the dishes are not stolen. They have an awesome wine selection and offer a "green" martini list.

good luck

If you love Mediterranean dishes, I suggest the Ghent location of Azar's. Go on a Friday or Saturday. There's on in Virginia Beach, but it's smaller and in my opinion, better for takeout.

Mmmm. Azar's is really good.

I like No Frill Bar & Grill in Norfolk also.

The Boot in Norfolk (it's on 21st). It's sort of green and uses local produce and food.

Trilogy downtown Norfolk.

And what's the name of that restaurant in VB that is kind of secluded in the middle of nowhere and you can drive there or sail/kanoe? Pete something or Blue something? That one really surprised me.
