Default I.T. Defense Contracting Companies in the area

In March my girlfriend and I will be taking a March road trip to places to possibly relocate to in mid 2008 from Denver. We will be visiting the Hampton Roads area (in addition to Raleigh & Charlotte). I have worked in NoVA previously as well. I have around 10 years of experience in software development with contracting, developer, architect, and lead roles.

Most of the I.T. related jobs that I see advertised are with defense contracting companies and I have compiled a pretty extensive list of 20 + companies. I have received offers in the past from Northrup & Lockhead as well for positions requiring clearance. I'm interested to hear others opinion about some of these companies in the Hampton Roads area. Insight regarding compensation, work\life balance, career growth would be great. Feel free to reply privately as well since candid first hand insight is greatly appreciated.

The company I work for is Global Systems Technologies. You don't even need a security clearance. Just a background check.

There is a huge technology boom in Northeast Suffolk with all the modeling and Simulation stuff going on around joint Forces Command. all major contractors have opened an office there, off the College Dr exit off I-664. Great work/Great family work benefits from my experience.
