Default Average Nofolk commute time, from???

Hey all, I am relocating from suburban Atlanta to HR and have been doing some lurking but would like to know average commute times TO Naval Station Norfolk from these areas:
Chesapeake
NAS Oceana
Shore Dr and 64
Dam Neck
I know there will be fluctutation (I'm from Atlanta) but what your experience has been, will be a great help.

Well it does depend on what part of the cities you listed. Most that you mentioned are about 30 minute commutes except from oceana and dam neck thats a bit longer say 45 min to an hour depending on the time of day.

Kbsimmons is right on target. Most of the time it will take you about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. (While VB may not have the traffic issues of cities like Atlanta, our area was not built to handle the volume of cars that are here, and our drivers are not 'big city drivers'.)

I worked in the Dam Neck area for 5 years, and my biggest gripe was how long it took me to get to the expressway. Once you get to the expressway (barring traffic jams), it's usually pretty fast. Although Dam Neck is a long road, and at one point, very close to Oceana. No matter what you do, from Dam Neck Road, never, ever take Holland Rd to get to the expressway (unless you enjoy sitting at stop lights, that is.)

Thanks, does anyone have a time from Chesapeake to NS Norfolk? Are you saying 30-45 min?
