Default Finally some snow this winter!

So, my dad just called me up. He told me that it was snowing lightly over his house. Virginia Beach - Kempsville Lakes.

Last big snow storm I remember was Winter '95. We turned an abandoned house's entryway steps into a ramp. Then we sat in an upside down trash lid (I was only 8!!) and slid into the street. Much fun.

I just hope this sticks.

Anybody else see snow? If so, what area?

Mostly flurries in the Hilltop area, blowing around really good, since the wind is so high today, but my 3 yr old LOVED it!

Snow flurries in the Ocean Lakes area. So Cool! It didn't stick, though, *sigh* that would have just made my day!

Hi MZkitty. Welcome to the forums.
We lived in Nashua NH for 3 years. Which part are you coming from? There are 3 months out of the year that are chilly and windy; temperatures frequently go below 30. Humidity is higher year round here. This makes it feel colder during the winter. There is very little snow; on occasion some roads get black ice (very thin, smooth ice). Allergies and arthritis can be more aggravated here, as my mother has experienced.

The weather can vary greatly from the peninsula to VA beach too. More snow in Newport News and Williamsburg than on the southside.

According to Joe Bastardi from Accuweather.com we will be in for a cold and snowy winter from Hampton Roads to NYC.
