I received my water bill and it has increased by more than $20.00 for the months of November and December. I have spoken to several other Virginia Beach residents and their bills have also increased by more than $20.00. Did Virginia Beach officially announce an increase or are they just adding it because they can?

Mine seems to be the same. The one that is out of control for us is the electric. We've significantly cut our use but the bill keeps going up.

Is it possible you just didn't notice the increase in July? HRSD fiscal year changes then and there was a rate increase and a change to the rate structure in July 2014.

Don't be surprised to see more increases in the coming years...

I usually just look at the bill and pay it, only this time I looked a little closer and kept seeing the increases. Then I went to dinner with some friends who live in Virginia Beach and the subject water bills and utilities came up. So we all started comparing all our bills. One of the people I spoke with called VB public works and found out -
posted from her email "I spoke to VB public works and to the Assist.City Manager. I got no where. It wassuggested to me that I appear at the budget meeting open to the public on April23 at Green Run. I think the only way toMAYBE get anywhere is to have as many VB residents show up to the meeting signup to speak to council and let them know we are sick of the out of controlfees." I do plan on attending this meeting.
