Unhappy Movin to VA beach and quition about apartments and neighborhood

Hi, Im gonna move to Norflk in couple of months for my husband job.
He is in the navy and will be stationed in Norfolk. also We have 2y/o kid.
We are serching apartments in VA beach and We found nice one by online.
(We arent live in the states right now so Cant go and see the houses yet until we get there )
and It called "Shoreline apartments". Looks very nice and The rating site says perfect! BUT I looked @ the map and seems like kinda near by Rosemont, Landstown and Chimney Hill which unsafe(dangerous) areas
I couldnt find "Green run" tho. Where is it???

So all i want to say is what do you think about that apartments and neighborhood?
We've never been to Virginia so no idea...

and Im from the most safest country in the world i think, lol so never felt scared since i was born in this country. Im serious!
so I really would like to get to know!!!
Please someone gimme an opinion or something, thank you!

and also sorry for my poor english. again, Im not an american.

Shoreline Apts. is in an OK area. There can be, at times, a lot of traffic on Independence Blvd. (depends on what you consider a lot). I would not recommend Chimney Hill or Green Run areas. Probably not Rosement either.
You stated that you're husband is going to be stationed in Norfolk. I'm assuming on NOB. I really don't know the best place around that area since my husband was stationed in Virginia Beach. Although, I did commute daily to NOB which took about 45 mins. Personally, I don't think I would want to live in Norfolk. You might try checking in Chesapeake, also.

There are some okay areas in Norfolk, but I used to teach there..and I wouldn't really put my daughter in the schools there...even though I had a great experience teaching there.

Green Run is off of Lynnhaven Parkway...but not where the mall is...closer to Princess Anne Road. I will see if I find anything on those apartments.

You are so welcome. So far, I did check out Rose Hall. Every review I found on them was really positive. It is definitely not in a bad area....It is probably a pretty middle of the road area. The apartments look nice, and I think you will find it easy to get to anywhere you want to go.

Auburn Place has bad reviews to say the least. Apparently, it is behind some kind of bar? and someone reported constant noise...and even gunshots. They said that everything about the place is horrible...so I would scratch that. Some areas right around Lynnhaven Mall might not be as good....

P.S. My husband is out of town, so I have more time than usual.
