I see there are so many areas to check out on here, I can really use some help! I already spend weekends in Hampton Roads, so I am familiar with all of the major roads, areas, etc. I am a single professional that received a job in Sewells Point and I am thinking on living in Virginia Beach and commuting. The only place I found in Norfolk that I can afford and lives up to my visual standards (budget for housing is only around $900-$1,000 a month) is at Park Towne Apartments in Little Creek. Ghent is ideal, but way out of my price range considering I need a 2br 1ba minimum.

- I am looking at Weblin Place by Lake Edwards, The new build Greenwich Village by 264 and Indian River Apartments among a few others. Thoughts on the areas? Does anyone recommend others?

- How horrible will the commute be from the Town Center Area to Sewells Point in the morning and afternoon. I already know how horrible the HRBT is since I drive that every Friday during rush hour. I take back roads and would hope there are easier back roads to take on my new commute. I really don't want a commute more than 45 minutes with traffic.

- I'd consider Chesapeake if the drive wasn't bad and I could avoid the Berkley Bridge. Thanks in advance!

Interesting. Weblin was recommended to me by a friend as a great complex, but I did find that Lake Edward seems to be a bad area on here.

Lake Edward is the neighborhood in VB where you see drug deals in broad daylight.

I agree. That has to be the WORST neighborhood in VAB.

What about Archer's Green, but in the newer buildings?

I'll look into Archer's Green. I've also been hearing that living on Shore Drive would be bad because it floods all the time. COnsidering I just purchased a new car, I don't think I want that risk. Still looking for offbeat rentals and possibly a nice place in the western end of Virginia Beach.
