Question Surry VA

I know this is out there among farmers and such, my kind of place. Anyone have thoughts on living in Surry area, schools in Surry County, and communting to Norfolk? (I know almost 50 miles by mapquest) at least from the property I am looking at to my office.

I am interested in both good and bad opinions...

Thanks,

Lonnie

Have you been there ? It's very rural. Closest major shopping areas are Williamsburg across the ferry or Newport News. I have a friend who is an asst principal there. I will let you know her thoughts on the schools. She just transferred there. What exactly are you looking for in a home ?

I actually found a place we like and are considering it. I did take a drive out there yesterday by the house, and the schools. Yes, I know it is very rural, and that is what I love about it. Yes I know that major shopping is far piece, but for me that kind of area is what I would like to have. I lived in a very small town in Idaho, and I miss it dearly.

I would like to hear about your firends comments about the schools, I looked at Greatschools.net they are small, which is ok with me. In idaho my graduating class was 29 members....
