We need A LOT of mulch for our yard! We got an estimate that said we needed 30 yards (don't know if that is accurate). Anyhow, the estimate for delivery, weed control & installation was over $1,800!!! That's with 6 yards free! I am having a heart attack!

Anyone know of a place with cheap hardwood mulch (not dyed) that delivers to the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake? We are willing (but not thrilled) to install it ourselves.

I'm not sure how far they will go but we use Waltrip Recycling for mulch in Williamsburg Va. I pick it up for around $12-$15 a cubic yard. They have huge blower trucks that can put it anywhere you want it. Here is their website Waltrip Recycling - Home

Many communities have a free community mulch pile. Help yourself to as much as you want. This time of year you are like to get a lot of recycled Christmas Trees in the mix. Your county govt. center will have information on where to find one near you.

Try Enchanted Forest on Kempsville Road in Chesapeake. We got our landscaping stones from them and their delivery fees were reasonable. I think they have mulch, too.

Wink free mulch

I called the city of va beach and they no longer do that. it's a thing of the past.
I would love to find a reasonable place for mulch. I too will need about 25 yards and the quote was about 1200.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Have you tried London Bridge Nursery or Four Seasons Nursery (on military hwy/providence)?

I deliver/install mulch all the time. To the OP(WindyCityGirl), that if you are a residence I really doubt you would need 30 yards of mulch. A lot of people will try to upsell and rip you off if you are not careful. My mulch prices are very competitive so if anyone is interested visit our website @ We service all of Hampton Roads! - Home - SUFFOLK, VA
