Current VB weather forecast shows winds on Tuesday of 23 MPH. I think we'll be just fine. I'm going to try to remember to put our patio umbrella down, and that's about the extent of my preparation

I bought three jugs of water and some extra flashlights and batteries--and got scolded by the cashier at Ace! "You know you can't return those after the storm, right?" I had no intention of returning them! My kids are constantly bugging me to use the two measly flashlights we have for flashlight tag--that's why we never have any batteries. Anyway, now I regret even buying those...

Looking even better for us as of 5 am. Let's hope she keeps pushing west.

HURRICANE IRMA

HURRICANE IRMA

Still hoping for those bad weather days for you, though, Spazcat.

"Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks aren't out of the woods just yet, but the chances of a direct hit from Hurricane Irma keep decreasing.

The region could still experience rain, wind and minor tidal flooding from some of the outermost bands of Irma on Tuesday through Wednesday. But winds likely won't reach tropical storm force of 39 mph, less than was forecast Thursday, the National Weather Service said."

I'm glad everything is pushing the storm away from HR. I actually looked at the flood zones from Hampton because of Irma and my dad's old neighborhood (Todd's Ln near I-64 and Mercury) is pretty safe...from flooding anyway.

It won't be tropical by the time it gets here. Better watch out for Jose & Lee.
