So...what're people thinking about Irma? Personally, I'm starting to get a little nervous...

The storm is about 7 \8 days from SC - if it comes this way; yet bread, water, milk are already gone from local stores. Too soon if you ask me, but I think Harvey has scared a LOT of people.

Well, as another CD poster put it in another CD hurricane thread "The local stores are sold out of water and bread. So I'm stocking up on Beer and Oreos."

Yeah, it's looking more and more like we need to stock up. We got 5 cases of water last weekend. We'll get bread and batteries this weekend. We're looking at 5- 6 days away so a lot could still happen.

The models just seem to keep looking worse for us. I keep expecting them to get better, but...no...

Still early, I know, but...anybody thinking about leaving?

Latest path shows it moving to the west. Which would be good. Still too early, really, though to tell.

"On its current track, Irma would still bring "some bumpy weather," to Hampton Roads, said Jeff Orrock, chief meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Wakefield. "Along the coast we could get 40-to-45-knot (45-50 mph) winds Monday and Tuesday and possibly into Wednesday. We'll get some tidal flooding because (winds) will be strong out of the east. And there will be some bands of rain. "The good news is that once over land, it will be weakening."

Lol. Even as a former teacher, I still get excited for a "snow" day.

I know we've only been back a few days, but it's still an exciting thought!
