Red face Feedback on Jefferson School Lofts in Suffolk?

Wondering if anyone has experience with the new lofts at the Jefferson School in downtown Suffolk? The website makes them look beautiful and affordable. Just wondering what kind of area these are in. They are overlooking Clay street. These are the lofts that are for rent, not the ones that are for sale and still being built. Any feedback would be great.
Thanks

Clay street is not the best area in town, and I think that they may be trying to refurbish that area.

I have seen pics of those (drawings) before they were built and they were very nice.

I will have to go down there and take a peek, but if my recollection is correct... bad area. All depends on what you are used to, I suppose.

Again, I have no experience with them, but when doing a search for homes many months ago, they came up...

I have lived here since 1989. I may be mistaking this area with another, so I will do some checking today, I work downtown, and I will ask around, and maybe drive out there...

Ok, I have researched the area. It is the section I thought it was. They are taking old buildings and refurbishing them. They are also building new ones, I do believe.

The pics they post online are just that, pics. I would not reccomend buying in this area at all.

Pictures can be pretty. I would def reccomend that this is not a good place to set your shoes.

What are you looking for and where will you be working>? Do you know this yet?

Thanks cinderobyn! That is good to know. I knew that it looked too good to be true. I will hopefully be relocating to hampton roads area this summer from California if my interview goes well in April. I hope that I am working at the new elementary school Hillpoint in Suffolk. Will need to rent for 6 months or so before settling on an area to buy in. Thanks for you feedback!!

There are things around, you just have to keep your eyes open. Lots of time you can find a nice townhouse for rent.

Funny, I don't know anything about a new ele in the area. I also dont keep up with the news, either.

I am gonna ask my friend at the schoolboard about that on monday..
