Default a change of heart

I have to be totally honest. I went into Military during the middle of the day for a change. Totally empty, most likely due to the demographic. Even though kids are in school there is always someone off of work, or working a different schedule that someone should be in the mall during the middle of the day, IMHO. speaks volumes to the fact that no one frequents that mall other than weekends off summer months and that is lacks diversity. could also be that the overpriced urbanwear in the mall, the kids can't honestly afford it, at least those that live in the area that don't already go to MacArthur for more of the same, the "ny" merchandise. you don't get that "ghosttown" feel at the other malls during the same time, not sure about chesapeake square though ...

I've shopped in Everette, WA's mall...I like it. It has a store in there that sells clothes, pet snacks and other things made in WA! I don't like the way they tax the hell out of everything though.
San Diego's malls...you can have em, too expensive for my taste.
Colorado Springs...somewhat to be desired.
I like the mall in Mobile, Al and their prices are reasonable.
We hit a big sale in the mall in Jacksonville, FL just a week ago. Polo shirts for 2.99 - 4.99 in Sears. Though at 7pm on a Tuesday evening, it was very quiet. We figured since the rug-rats were back in school, no ones making a be-line for the sales.

Default in response to you: drug dealers and hookers

I think you are single minded and small sighted. There is no where in the seven cities that caters to young urban(not just black) shoppers like military. lynnhaven is for upper-middle class( mostly white) middle age people and families, greenbrier is for families, and macarthur is for upper class( mostly white) middle age shoppers. No one complains about either of those other malls, but because you have to have it at your convience to get your preference of goods in your preference of eviorment you attack the unfamiliar and different. no one is making you go there or shop there and if you don't like it then you are free to take your money else where. But to refer to someones style as a deffiniton of the character is not only ignorant but it jus personifies how much you can't see past the nose on your face. because if people defined everyone by the things that they wore and the place the brought it. then you sound like a upper class, uneducated, lacking the ability to see the whole picture, spoiled individual who rather then accepting the compramise given( many different malls and enviorments in which to shop), choses to attack to cover their own insecurities about being surrounded by individuals the find unmoral and unpleasent. This is not burger king, it's life and you can't always have it your way.

Yikes! I'll have to agree on that one....hinton bound was probably a stepping over the line with that mind of remark. Malls are just a huge melting pot of all kinds of consumers, and yes, a lot of wierd people come out on the weekend to shop there. If you're thinking that all of those stores cater to that sort of crowd, for all we know, a white collar-educated person may shop there, but may also be a drug dealer; you never know. If those kinds of places put those ideas in your head, I would suggest that you shop online or elsewhere.

On a side note, there still are some good people in the world; keeping those negative thoughts in your head will really get you nowhere.

Yay! Let's go shop on overstock.com! (2.95 shipping costs!)

Overstock is okay. I've found good deals here and there, just like ABC Distributing.
People shop where they can find value, but I guess I'm more in the casual yuppie type wear. I like Lizsport, Eddie Bauer and other brands that wear well, but depending on the price, is where I'll shop.

As far as malls go, Pembrooke and Military Circle are both terrible. Not that I'm a connoisseeur of malls. Just my opinion of course. Now that I think about it, MacArthur Mall has sort of fallen off a little since I first started going there 7-10 years ago. I do miss Rainforest Cafe.

Regarding online shopping, I always check Overstock.com and have purchased a number if items from that site. I would suggest anyone be careful when purchasing electronics. While you can get great deals, a lot of the times they are "refurbished". Meaning the original purchaser returned it to the brick and mortar show because it wasn't operating correctly. From there the company is supposed to fix it and then sell it online. I bought a really nice digital camera that died after a month and a half.

Yep, I like Rainforest as well (still have my coffee cup). I think due to online shopping, alot of the malls have fallen as far as rack items go. We were in Pembroke last night and I was a bit suprised it wasn't busier, but then, with the economy, everybody is watching their spending. Williamsburg Outlet was packed last weekend. We were glad we went early enough to stop at Cracker barrel for breakfast because nearing lunch time, all the places including the new food court were very busy.

Default why ???

Well i went to military circle a couple times on vacation and it has its down sides. Its one of the worst malls i've ever been to. With its limited stores i think one day soon it will close for good . I think it just in a bad location it is next beside janaf thats pretty bad too. But i did leave the mall with pretty good sales i guess that cant be bad.

Military Circle is a dump. MacArthur is great IMO. Lynnhaven is to spread out. Basically, MacArthur is my favorite
