Ergh. Is it Friday already? ACK!
Tomorrow being Saturday, you should get up early to be at the 8th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Meet at the 31st Street Park for the 5k dedicated to curing breast cancer.
Head over to Stockley Gardens in Norfolk for the 2008 Annual Stockley Gardens Spring Arts Festival. With over 100 artists displaying and selling artwork, I'm sure you can find some great pieces to decorate your home with.
Head over to the Chesapeake City Park on Saturday at 8am for the Chesapeake Service Systems' WalkAbility Walk-A-Thon. Enjoy a nice two-mile non-competitive walk around the beautiful park to celebrate those with disabilities who work in and for their communities.
Saturday from 2-9pm, be at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. It's the FALL FESTIVAL! With hayrides, pumpkin decorating, and even the chance to roast marshmallows this is sure to be fun!
Head over to Newport News all weekend for the Harvest Faire. This Medieval festival will be held at the Mariners' Museum Park. Keep an eye out for the corrupt Sheriff who won't hesitate to throw you in the stocks, and the outlaws hiding in the village. Cheer for your combatant in the Field of Honors, check out the Medieval encampment, food, dancing, and fun will all be there! ((One of Kuharai's best friends is a part of this.))

This is the last weekend for Busch Gardens this season. I'll have to try and use my season pass one last time.

Kuharai,
Hi. So you don't get fed up with those looking for help from locals...here is a thank you to YOU and others who are willing to spare a few keystrokes to help others like myself out. It's best to have true locals and not websites give you opinions and information about the area. I greatly appreciate the time that others have taken to help give me the information needed prior to making such a large step in my life. I am sure you have taken the time to help many out...and in case you haven't heard it from anyone....THANK YOU. Thanks to you and all the others who take that 5 seconds to type up a tidbit of helpful information...all said in nothing but true sincerity. Your post of local events is also wonderful...I'm definately looking forward to moving to your area!!! Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Aww.. Thank you! I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to get this up this week because I've been completely overwhelmed and swamped. I'm starting to fall behind on many things...
The only thing I know is that this is the last weekend for Howl-O-Scream... so I'm going to Busch Gardens one last time before the end of the season.

Okay! Tonight is Halloween. So I'm here at work dressed as a succubus... Hurray.
For those who don't want to bear the cold, call your local shopping mall. Most of them do this nifty thing called "Trick or Treat on the Mall" which provides a well-lit and safe place for your kids to trick or treat.. or check out one of these Halloween events:
Wards corner in Norfolk will be using the old Dollar General store for a Halloween Spooktacular event from 5:30-8pm tonight, all you need is a $1.00+ 1 non-perishable food item to be donated to the food bank. Music, fun, entertainment, food, and more, this should be great for those who don't need the candy.
For adults, check out Halloween at Town Center from 7-11pm. Note: This is Virginia Beach's Town Center.
The Ferry Plantation house in Virginia Beach is having their Stroll of Lost Souls halloween event. This event is from 8-midnight.
For children who are in 5th grade or below, head over to Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach for a cold-free night of fun.
I don't usually list church-related events.. but this one is really a great idea. The Portsmouth United Church of Christ is having their third annual Trunk or Treat from 530 - 8pm.
And Operation Safe House will be happening at some of the local Volunteer Fire stations!

Okay.. I thought to get an early start on this... as I won't be on after Wednesday. In truth, there weren't many events listed for this weekend. Now that tourist season is really dying down and the weather is getting colder, there are less and less events going on.
However, this weekend is NEKOCON! So head over to the Hampton Roads Convention Center this weekend for some serious fun. In fact, this is where Kuharai will be. If anybody else is going, PM me.
And right next door to Nekocon over at the Hampton Coliseum is the Bluebird Gap Farm to Host Children’s Fall Festival. On Saturday from 10-3pm, children can enjoy pony rides, hayrides, a magician, clowns, food, and more.
Sunday at 7pm, be at the Ted Constant Convocation Center for the "Do you think you can dance" 2008 tour.
