I'm looking for a new place to live right now and I use a wheelchair. Does anyone know where I can start with when looking for a house that is wheelchair accessible such as not only being able to get in the house but being able to get in the backyard, lower counter in the kitchen, wider doorways for wheelchairs especially to go into the bathrooms?

If this isn't possible, what about apartments that have accessible units? I've looked into a lot of apartments and they say they're accessible but I would think they mean the lobby and main areas are accessible for wheelchair users but I'm looking for wheelchair access units in the apartment buildings.

Thanks.
