Even though this is dated from last summer, I've been to the beach plenty of times this year already and have yet to pay over $1 after 5pm. You must have ran across a new parking attendant or one that was just simply lazy or misinformed.

Oooo, thanks you guys. I did in fact pay $7 bucks! wow, I will be much more careful next time......Probably a misinformed attendant or one that pocketed the difference. My husband and I actually avoid going down there on weekends after 5 because of the price (we thought). Thanks!

wjjbward is on a distinguished road
did you show them your drivers license? They won't ask if you're a resident, so make sure you push the license in their faces! LOL

As of this tourist season, the city of VB eliminated the free parking on Wednesdays for VB residents. That ticks me off, but we mainly go after 5pm anyway, so we usually just pay $1.

The city DOES allow you to buy monthly parking passes in the summer. The garage passes are $50/month and the lot on 19th street is $40/month, I believe.
